Fall Fun

The fall season is a great time to spend time with family and friends.  If you’re looking for some great activities with the family, be sure to look into visiting a pumpkin patch.  Pumpkin patches tend to have corn mazes, crafts, fall food, petting zoos, and tractor rides to entertain the little ones.  You can then pick out the pumpkins you want, take them home and carve them and bake the seeds!  Some pumpkin patches in the area include Howell’s Pumpkin Patch, Geisler Farms, Center Grove Orchard, & Patch’s Pumpkins & Honey Farm.

If your fall fun usually includes a haunted house or two, there are a few in the Des Moines area worth visiting.  Be sure to check and see if there are age limits for younger children before attending, however.  Sleepy Hollow has multiple choices to choose from including 3 separate haunted houses.  The Asylum and The Slaughterhouse are rumored to be exceptional scares as well!

Trick or treat fun is Sunday, October 30th.  If you choose to trick or treat at Sun Prairie, be sure to only knock on doors that have a bright orange door hanger.  If you would like to have trick or treaters stop by, be sure to pick up an orange hanger at the office.

Have a fun and safe Halloween!

Also, don’t forget to go to Night Eyes at the Blank Park Zoo or the Halloween event at Living History Farms. More family fun!

I’m hoping to take my son to Howell’s this weekend. It should be a great time! :-)
